All for water - water for all!

579 million people worldwide live without access to clean drinking water. Many of these people live in rural areas and spend a lot of time getting water to their family every day. In addition, accessible water resources are often not secured, so the cleanliness of the water is not guaranteed.

Access to clean water means:

Bulletpoint

Health

Safe access to clean drinking water and sanitation prevents one of the most common causes of death in developing countries, with 1.5 million children under the age of 5 dying each year from water and sanitation-related diarrhea.

Bulletpoint

Education

Clean water enables children and especially girls to get a better education! In schools with good water supply, health is better, absenteeism is lower, concentration is better, learning success is greater.

Bulletpoint

Time

Close access to clean drinking water allows more valuable time for education, family and sustainable development. Since water procurement is a women's issue in many countries, close and safe access to water shortens the often hours-long water-gathering time of women and girls in poor countries.

Bulletpoint

Female Empowerment

Safe, close access to water creates more space for education and empowerment, as well as dignified menstrual hygiene options. Women and socially disadvantaged people are encouraged to have a say in water planning and thus gain a voice.
